In 2009 Johnny Triscari received the coveted Adelaide Advertiser chef of the year for 2010 further adding to the reputation of the Chloe’s kitchen as a place of worth in the Adelaide dining scene. It is this type of worth that attracts good chefs with passion and experience and when sous chef Rebecca Stubbs took the head chef position at The Retreat at Chapel Hill Wines it was a smooth transition with Chris Matuhina slotting into her place.
Like Johnny Trsicari, Chris Matuhina brings to the Chloe’s kitchen a depth of experience in fine dining, but most importantly a long and distinguished association with food and wine as the complete package having held the position of head chef at Penfolds Magill Estate restaurant in it’s hey day and since then worked in several high profile interstate postions. Already Johnny and Chris have formed an obvious bond and are firing on all four!.
Apprentice Holly Staehr is now in the third and final year of her apprenticeship and well able to hold her own in the male dominated environment. Triscari is justifiably proud of her achievements and rates Holly as one of the future stars. Staehr in return is grateful to work in a kitchen with such high standards that starts with the beautiful bread they make and ends with the ice cream and petit fours!
The stability of the Chloe’s kitchen is a credit to Triscari and a sign of the good things one finds on the Chloe’ dining room table.
